Michael Valen
Michael Valen is a graduate of Saint Olaf College in Northfield Minnesota. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Germany in 1982. He also attended the University of Konstanz in Germany studying Literaturwissenshaft in 1980. He later graduated from the Naval Aviation Officer Candidate School, becoming a commissioned officer in 1983.
Mr. Valen worked as a naval aviator, with 1000 hours aboard an F-14 aircraft and 200 arrested carrier landings. Thereafter, he graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1993. Mr. Valen attended Florida State University College of Law on scholarship while working for the House Committee on Commerce as a Legislative Intern between 1992 and 1993. During that time he was published by Florida State University Law Review: "A Legislative History of Worker's Compensation Review in Florida". Since practicing law, he has had numerous published appellate decisions. He practices in the fields of personal injury, workers' compensation, social security disability.
