Paying attention to everything going on around a vehicle is one of the most basic requirements of all drivers. Another basic requirement is being able to follow traffic laws. When drivers fail to pay attention to what is going on around them, they might do something that leads to an accident. A recent accident in Florida between a car and a school bus shows just how important it is to be vigilant while driving.
The accident occurred when a 56-year-old man was trying to drive his 2000 Mazda 626 onto an on-ramp for Interstate 75. While trying to navigate to the on-ramp, the man turned into the path of a Pasco County school bus. The bus crashed into the passenger side of the car.
Four Wesley Chapel High School students received minor injuries during the accident. They were released at the scene to their parents. The two adults who were on the bus weren't hurt. The 56-year-old driver and his two passengers were taken to the hospital after receiving serious injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that charges are pending for this accident.
For some people who are injured in a car accident, the severity of the injuries is immediately apparent. For others, the injuries might not be fully noticed right away. Anyone who has been hurt in a car accident has the right to seek compensation for those injuries from the at-fault party. The process can be complicated, so the advice of an experienced Florida personal injury attorney can prove very helpful. No one should have to suffer financially because of another person's negligent or reckless actions.
