Driving on the interstates that snake through Florida requires drivers to be especially vigilant because of the high speeds on these lanes. A recent accident on I-95 near Hobe Sound is a reminder that inattentive driving and negligent driving can lead to serious accidents.

A pickup truck was heading southbound on the interstate when the driver crossed over into the northbound lane. While traveling in the northbound lane, two accidents occurred. Injuries were reported in the first accident, but none were reported in the second accident.

Three people in the car struck by the pickup truck were injured. One of those was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center via air transport. That person was listed in critical condition, according to a Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson.

The two crashes closed down the northbound lanes and one southbound lane of the interstate. While this probably proved to be inconvenient to motorists, it is nothing compared to what the three people injured will have to deal with as they heal from this horrible accident.

For people who are injured in a car accident, the physical pain is only aspect of life that is affected by the accident. As they get the medical care they need, the medical bills will likely start coming in. Those medical bills will likely cause the injured person some stress, especially if their injuries required them to take time off of work.

Victims of car accidents can opt to seek monetary compensation for the injuries they suffered in the accident. This compensation can help to pay for expenses, such as medical bills and therapy costs, as they work toward their recovery.
